Germination Information

Pre-treatment: None required

Establishment: Seed germinates readily without pretreatment. Stratification may speed up germination by 1-2 days but does not increase total emergence. Seed is collected when the pappus begins to expand, typically in September, and can be collected using a vacuum to leave immature seeds and reduce trash. Seed is stored in paper bags at room temperature until cleaned.
