Germination Information

Pre-treatment: Seeds are placed into a 24 hour water soak followed by a 60 day cold, moist stratification.

Establishment: Seeds are collected in early October when catkins have turn papery and scales begin to dehisce. Seeds are brown at maturity. Branches are flailed over a canvas tarp. Seeds are swept into bags and kept in a well ventilated drying shed prior to cleaning.
