Germination Information

Pre-treatment: Fruits are crumbled over germination trays filled with a commercial potting soil

Establishment: P. crucis is found in Cuba, Hispaniola, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands and throughout the Lesser Antilles to Tobago. It is also widespread from southern Mexico to Honduras and Guatemala, and to Brazil and Argentina. In St. Croix this species is found primarily in the north west of part of the island on hills and in ravines. It is, perhaps, a riparian species.
