* How these results were determined: ecoregion boundaries come from a global habitat classification developed by conservation scientists at the World Wildlife Fund. Plant occurrence records come from GBIF (the Global Biodiversity Information Facility), an international open-data network built largely from citizen and academic scientists who photograph plants in the field and upload the sighting with GPS coordinates through apps like iNaturalist. We cross-reference each plant's occurrence points against the ecoregion boundaries and each species' known native range in this country to flag which matches are best supported by the evidence.
