Germination Information
Pre-treatment: Seeds are mechanically seeded in mid-November. Field density ranges from 81 to 97 acorns/m2. Seeds may be floated in water to determine viability. Discard seeds that float and retain those that sink for planting.
Establishment: Seeds are collected from local people or from established natural stands. There is a variation in the length of the establishment phase between the two protocols.
